Cabrera to meet with doctor
DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera is scheduled for a checkup with his doctor on Tuesday for his surgically-repaired right foot.
Chris Iott tweeted that Cabrera was cleared to remove the walking boot from his foot during a visit with Dr. Robert Anderson roughly a month ago. The next step for Cabrera is to be cleared for baseball activities during his visit on Tuesday. The Tigers are hopeful that he’ll be ready for the start of the season.
Having Cabrera healthy will be vital for a team that is watching its championship window close. The Tigers have an aging roster and lost Victor Martinez for the next couple of months after he injured his knee. Without Cabrera, the Tigers could watch as the Royals or even the White Sox pass them in the AL Central.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers are 16/1 to win the World Series and are 15/2 to win the AL Pennant in 2015.
