PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh junior forward Durand Johnson is nearly all the way back from the torn ACL that ended his sophomore season.
Johnson had surgery to repair the knee in January. Nine months later only a balky ankle is preventing him from participating Friday when the Panthers open practice with an outdoor scrimmage.
The versatile Johnson was in the midst of a breakout season when he was hurt. He says his knee is at ”86 percent” and doesn’t think it will be a factor moving forward.
The Panthers open the season Nov. 14 against Niagara.
