Tour de France 2012 Odds to Win
(The Spread) – The Tour de France odds for 2012 are already out and oddsmakers have installed Alberto Contador as the favorite.
Contador has opened as a 1/1 favorite to win the Tour de France 2012. Andy Schleck has the next best odds at 7/2 while Cadel Evans is 6/1. Bradley Wiggins is 10/1, Robert Gesink is 25/1 and Samuel Sanchez is 33/1.
Evans won the Tour de France 2011 but Contador was victorious the previous two years in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Contador’s 2012 victory was his third Tour de France win of his career. He also won the event in 2007, while fellow Spaniard Carlos Sastre won the Tour de France 2008.

Of course, Lance Armstrong holds the record for most Tour de France victories with seven. He won seven consecutive Tour de France races from 1999 through 2005. Oscar Pereiro won the Tour de France in 2006, ending Armstrong’s win streak.
Some of the mid-range long shots to win the Tour de France 2012 include Vincenzo Nibali at 40/1, while Alejandro Valverde, Denis Menchov, Frank Schleck, Ivan Basso, Jani Brajkovic and Jurgen Van Den Broeck are all 50/1, respectively.
