Men’s 1500m Run Olympic Odds
Who will be the fastest 1-mile runner at the 2016 Rio Olympics? Here is a look at the odds for the Men’s 1500-meter Run.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Asbel Kiprop is the favorite to win this event, as he has -185 odds. Other short odds to prevail are Ronald Kwemoi (+525), Taoufik Makhloufi (+600) and Elijah Manangoi (+650). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Kiprop competes for Kenya. He won the gold medal in this event at the 2008 Olympics, but finished 12th in 2012. He has since bounced back, winning the 2013 and 2015 World Championships. His personal best in the mile is 3:26.69.
Kwemoi competes for Kenya as well. He is competing in his first Olympics Games but has had success on the World juniors stage. His personal best time in this event is 3:28.81.
Makhloufi competes for Algeria. He is the defending Olympic gold medalist in the 1,500-meter. He finished fourth at the most-recent World Championships in 2015. His best in the 1,500 is 3:28.75.
Manangoi also competes for Kenya. He is taking part in his first Olympic Games, but finished second in the 2015 World Championships with a time of 3:34.63. His personal best in the mile is 3:29.67.
