United States vs. China Odds
CANADA (TheSpread) – The United States is down a few key players when it takes on China tonight in the quarterfinals of the Women’s World Cup at 7:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the United States is favored in today’s match, as they have odds of -277 to win in regulation, while China has a money line of +750 to win in 90 minutes. The odds of the match going to extra time has been set at +375, while the over/under total is listed at 2.5 goals.
The United States is coming off a 2-0 win over Colombia in the first round of the knockout stage. Despite a 2-0 win, the victory was heavily criticized as analysts expected a larger margin of victory. In the win, U.S. midfielders Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday each picked up a yellow card, their second of the World Cup, which means they have to sit out today’s game. Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd had the two goals in the win while Hope Solo made two saves in the shutout.
China earned a 1-0 win over Cameroon in the knockout stage. Wang Shanshan scored for them just 12 minutes into the game and China held on from there. Goalie Wang Fei made four saves in the victory. China enters this game with a 2-1-1 record in the World Cup. It has just a +1 goal differential thus far.
