Azerbaijan Grand Prix Picks
The 2017 Formula 1 racing season is back in action on Sunday morning with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Here are some drivers we like to contend for the win.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix takes place Sunday at 9AM ET from Baku City Circuit. The race is a 190-mile contest that will run 51 laps around the track. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Lewis Hamilton is favored to win this weekend, as he has -128 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Sebastian Vettel (+162) and Valtteri Bottas (+450).
Lewis Hamilton is always the man to beat in the F1 series. In this inaugural race, he will be the man to beat. This year, he is second in the standings, but still has three wins and a pair of runner-up finishes. With him in second, he has to be more aggressive with each race. I like him to again lead the pack on Sunday.
Sebastian Vettel appears to be the only man that can contend with Hamilton regularly this year. He is first in the standings due to his three wins and three runner-up finishes this year. He is coming off his worst showing of 2017, a fourth-place finish at Canada. I think he will be right in the mix again on Sunday, as he has avoided making any major mistakes.
Valtteri Bottas is firmly third in the standings and seems to be third fiddle to Hamilton and Vettel in most races. He is the only other F1 driver with a win this year and he has finished in the top 3 in three other races. Bottas has managed to stay near the front of the pack all season and I don’t see anything changing on Sunday.
