2010 World Cup Qualifying:
Australia had a lengthy road to qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. It started with qualifying through AFC where it opened in Group A. Australia went 3-2-1 in group play advancing to the next round along with Qatar. From there, Australia joined Group A in round two and went 6-0-2 to win the group and qualify for the World Cup. Australia scored 12 goals and allowed just one in that stretch to score 20 points in the group.
Betting Analysis:
Since qualifying, Australia has picked up wins over New Zealand and Denmark while losing to the United States. With its long road to get to the World Cup, Australia has grown accustomed to playing in high-pressure games. While the talent level will certainly pick up, Australia has a chance to make some waves this month. Joining Germany, Serbia, and Ghana in Group D, the door is open for a run, the Aussies just need to be at their best. Certainly putting your money on Australia is risky, but the payout would be large enough to where you wouldn’t need to gamble much.
