Indianapolis 500 Predictions
The 2018 Indianapolis 500 will wave the green flag on Sunday morning. Here’s the drivers we like to contend for the victory in this year’s race.
The Indianapolis 500 is a 500-mile race that will be held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The race takes place today on Sunday at 11AM ET and will air live on ABC. According to oddsmakers, Alexander Rossi is the favorite to win, as he has 7/1 odds. Other short odds to prevail are Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden, who each have 10/1 odds.
13006 Scott Dixon 10/1
Dixon is the driver I like most in Sunday’s race. He is a former winner and has been consistently in the mix in past Indy 500s. Dixon finished 32nd last year and he has followed up his past poor performances in this race by getting a top-6 finish the next year. I like Dixon to be a force early from the third row and ultimately be the man to beat in this race.
13008 Will Power 12/1
Power has never won this race, but he did finish second in 2015 and I think this could be his year to finally get the nod. He is coming off a win at the Indy road course and that should give him some momentum for this race. Power has been too good a driver for too long not to claim an Indy 500. Starting in the front row, I think he will really be aggressive and make a strong run at winning.
13009 Danica Patrick 20/1
If you are really looking for a nice payout, I think Patrick deserves some consideration. While her racing career hasn’t really lived up to the hype, her career at Indy has actually been pretty strong. Out of seven appearances, she has finished in the top 10 six times, including two top-5 finishes. Patrick has been away from the IndyCar Series and Indy 500 for a while, but it was much more fruitful for her than NASCAR ever was. I think her 20/1 odds give her great value on Sunday.
