General Quarters Odds
One of the more experienced thoroughbreds to run in this weekend’s Kentucky Derby will be General Quarters, who is a 20/1 long shot to win the annual horse race.
General Quarters has already compiled a 11-3-3-1 record over his career and perhaps the most notably stat for bettors as he enters the 2009 Kentucky Derby is that he won his last race (Blue Grass) at Keeneland on April 11.
General Quarters also has wins at Sam F. Davis at the Tampa Bay Downs on February 14 of this year, as well as on May 30 of 2008 at the Maiden Claiming at Churchill Downs. Despite those victories, however, General Quarters has been rather inconsistent, at does have second pace finishes at Allowance (Keeneland) on October 18, 2008, Inaugural S. (Tampa Bay Downs) on December 27 of 2008, and Pasco S. (Tampa Bay Downs) on December 27 of 2008.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made General Quarters a 20/1 long shot behind I Want Revenge (3/1), Pioneerof the Nile (4/1), Dunkirk (4/1), Frisean Fire (5/1), Hold Me Back (15/1) and Desert Party (15/1). Musket Man and Papa Clem are also 20/1 long shots.
