2009 Masters Odds
The 2009 U.S. Golf Masters Tournament is quickly approaching and will be played on April 6 through April 12. Let’s take a look at the odds.
To no one’s surprise, oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBG Global have made Tiger Woods this year’s favorite to win the Masters at 2/1. Tiger has quite the Masters history, winning the event four times, including 1997, 2001, 2002 and as recently as 2005. At 89 professional wins and counting, nobody will question him being the favorite to win this year’s Masters.
The next best odds belong to Phil Mickelson, who is a small 10/1 long shot to win the 2009 Masters Tournament. Out of the four majors, the Masters seem to be Mickelson’s favorite as he won in 2004 and 2006. Outside of a PGA Championship win in 2005, those two victories at the Masters are the only Major Championships Mickelson has won so he could be a solid bet come April.
Padraig Harrington (14/1), Sergio Garcia (14/1) and Vijay Singh (15/1) are the other mid, to long shots at this year’s Masters. Harrington has never won the Masters, but did finish fifth in 2002 and 2008. Garcia’s highest Masters finish was fourth in 2004, while Singh won the 2000 Masters.
