Australian Grand Prix Picks
The Formula 1 Series opens up its 2018 season early Sunday morning. Here are the drivers we like to win the race.
The Australian Grand Prix takes place Sunday at 1AM ET from Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit. The race is a 191-mile contest that will run 58 laps around the track. According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Lewis Hamilton is the favorite to win this race, as he has +150 odds. Other short odds to win are Valtteri Bottas (+250) and Sebastian Vettel (+450).
56121 Lewis Hamilton +150
Lewis Hamilton is a two-time winner of this race, last claiming the victory in 2015. He has also finished second the last two years. Hamilton has managed to win the series championship three of the last four years and has been the driver to beat in almost every race for the last four years. That should be the case again on Sunday.
56122 Sebastian Vettel +450
Sebastian Vettel is also a two-time winner of this race and the defending champion. After a few years of struggling, Vettel got himself back into championship contention last year. He finished second in the series, but racked up four victories and had six runner-up finishes. Vettel should be able to contend again this year and I think he can definitely challenge Hamilton for the victory.
56125 Daniel Ricciardo +700
If looking for an upset in this race, Daniel Ricciardo may be your guy. He is someone that has been able to win races in previous years and also consistently finds himself in the top 5. He was fourth in this race in 2016 and sixth in 2015. Ricciardo is someone that has the potential to be a championship contender and if it is going to happen this year, he needs a fast start. Look for him to be the one to capitalize if Hamilton and Vettel slip up.
