According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Velasquez had a betting line of -110 to win the main event, meaning at $110 bet on Velasquez would pay out an additional $100.
Velasquez quickly disposed of Nogueira in the first round, using faster striking to catch Nogueira with a right hook that sent the veteran to the mat. Velasquez then quickly pounced and landed five-straight strikes to the head to end the fight.
In the co-main event, Wanderlei Silva used strong finishes to each round to out-point Michael Bisping. Bisping was quicker and used more takedowns, but Silva ended each round in a flurry and nearly knocked Bisping out to end the fight.
In the biggest surprise of the night, George Sotiropoulos picked up an impressive decision win over Joe Stevenson. Sotiropoulos controlled the entire fight, even when he was on his back, using slick jiu-jitsu and rubber guard skills to keep Stevenson at bay.
