Updated Oscars Best Picture Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The 2015 Oscars is this Sunday and with that, let’s take a look at the updated odds for the Best Picture category.
“Birdman” remains a 5/8 favorite to win Best Picture according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv. “Boyhood” has the next-best odds at 6/5 while “American Sniper” is 16/1 and “The Imitation Game” is 28/1. “Selma” is also 33/1.
The long shots to win the award for Best Picture at this year’s Oscars are “The Grand Budapest Hotel” at 40/1 and “Theory of Everything” at 50/1. “Whiplash” is also 50/1.
“Birdman” stars Michael Keaton and Emma Stone and centers on a washed up actor who once played an iconic superhero that now battles his ego and attempts to recover his family. It grossed $35,135,202 on a $22,000,000 budget and hit $424,397 in its opening weekend (October 17, 2014).
The 87th Academy Awards will take place February 22, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles starting at 8:30PM ET.
