HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) Newly disclosed sworn statements by men who say Jerry Sandusky sexually abused them raise new questions about his fellow assistant coaches at Penn State.
That includes what they might have seen or known in the decades before his November 2011 arrest, and why they’ve been largely silent since.
Questions that have dogged Sandusky’s former colleagues were renewed in the past week by claims that some of them may have witnessed him abusing children as far back as the 1980s.
Aside from blanket denials made through lawyers and spokespeople, the former assistant coaches named in the court documents have said little about Sandusky.
Three of the four coaches named in newly released depositions given by men who settled with Penn State immediately denied that they witnessed or were aware of Sandusky’s abuse. A fourth died four years ago.
