NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Vanderbilt coach Bryce Drew has landed his second top recruit this month with Simisola Shittu signing his national letter of intent for the class of 2018.
The 6-foot-9 forward signed his letter Wednesday. A five-star recruit, Shittu is a consensus top 10 player and rated the nation’s eighth-best prospect by Rivals.com.
Drew says Shittu is very unique and that he cannot wait for the forward to put on his Vanderbilt jersey.
A native of Burlington, Ontario in Canada, Shittu plays at Vermont Academy. MVP of the NBPA Top 100 camp this summer, he also averaged 20.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game at Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League this year.
Shittu joins guard Darius Garland and wing Aaron Nesmith. Vanderbilt also is recruiting another top prospect, shooting guard Romeo Langford.
