DENVER (AP) -The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Marty Sertich from the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, giving up a conditional pick in the 2009 NHL draft.
The 25-year-old Sertich was with the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League for the past two seasons. He had 27 goals and 25 assists last season to lead Iowa in scoring.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound center played four seasons at Colorado College, winning the Hobey Baker Memorial Award – the Heisman of college hockey – in 2004-05. He led the nation that year with 64 points.
Sertich signed with Dallas as a free agent on July 10, 2006.
