CHICAGO (AP) -The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Michael Brodeur from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Brodeur’s recall Sunday was the Blackhawks’ second of a Rockford goaltender since first-string goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin sprained his knee during Wednesday night’s 7-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. On Thursday they called up Corey Crawford from the IceHogs.
Brodeur has split his time this season between Rockford and Pensacola of the ECHL. At Pensacola, he has appeared in 18 games with a record of 5-7-4. He played in two games for Rockford, where he was 1-0-0.
The Blackhawks host the Avalanche on Sunday.
