Penguins’ Letang suffered stroke
PITTSBURGH, PA (The Spread) – Kris Letang’s mysterious illness has finally been revealed.
According to Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Letang recently had a stroke and will be sidelined for the next six weeks. The good news is that he’s expected to make a full recovery and the condition isn’t considered career-threatening. But he’ll need to go on blood thinners for now in hopes that he’ll make a full recovery and return to the ice in under two months.
Letang said he experienced dizziness and nausea last week and thought he had suffered some kind of illness. But further testing revealed that the condition was more serious.
“It obviously was a shock to get the news but I’m optimistic that I can overcome this and get back on the ice,” Letang told NHL.com.
The Pens will host the Rangers tonight at 7:00PM ET and according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Pittsburgh is currently listed as a -163 money line favorite. Both teams have been hot of late, as the Rangers have won four of their last five and the Penguins have won six of their last eight. That said, the Rangers have lost ten of their last 12 games against the Penguins.
