Will the Sharks dump the Rangers in San Jose when the two teams square off at 10:00 p.m. ET on Friday night? Will the Canucks upend the Devils at 10:00 p.m. ET in Vancouver? And can the Kraken slay the Ducks at 10:00 p.m. ET in Seattle? Our Friday NHL Best Bets Jan. 23 column explores picks for each of these three matchups.
NHL Best Bet: Sharks -110 (vs. Rangers)
San Jose has been playing offensively at a solid clip and showed earlier this week they can exploit teams with defensive issues. The Rangers are inconsistent lately — having dropped back-to-back games and struggling to find rhythm after tough road losses — while Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini has been a real catalyst and production driver. Their goaltending and opportunistic scoring give San Jose a clear edge in this matchup.
NHL Best Bet: Canucks +132 (vs. Devils)
New Jersey is battling to stay competitive, but Vancouver just snapped a long losing streak and has momentum from a recent win. Plus, All-Star contributions and Devils injuries (including loss of Luke Hughes) make the Canucks a value underdog on the moneyline. Historical betting previews show this game as closer than expected and there’s legitimate value backing Vancouver at plus money.
NHL Best Bet: Kraken -117 (vs. Ducks)
Anaheim is beatable and the Kraken are fairly balanced — with a recent trend toward tight defense and opportunistic scoring at home. The Kraken control their own play more consistently than Anaheim, who are streaky and can give up soft goals. Seattle’s goalie situation stabilized recently, offering bettors even more value with the Kraken.
Friday NHL Best Bets Jan. 23
- San Jose Sharks -110
- Vancouver Canucks +132
- Seattle Kraken -117
