Penguins Cup Odds
Fresh off their 2009 Stanley Cup victory, the Pittsburgh Penguins are fully stocked and are looking to defend their championship this season.
The Penguins added Jay McKee, Michael Rupp, Brent Johnson and Chris Conner this offseason, while departing with Hal Gill, Rob Scuderi, Petr Sykora, Mathieu Garon, Miroslav Satan and Philippe Boucher.
Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin once again reunite to form one of the deadliest combinations in the NHL. While Crosby is one of the league’s most exciting players, Malkin may very well outscore “Sid Kid” again this season.
There are only two concerns about the Pens this season. The first is whether or not they’ll suffer a Stanley Cup hangover and the second is whether or not Crosby can stay healthy as he continues to battle a groin injury.
The key for Pittsburgh this season will be replacing Hill and Scuderi on their blue line. Alex Goligoski appears to be ready to assume a bigger role after having a great camp and the Pens might be even stronger than they were last season. If nothing else, this team is battle-tested and ready to possibly repeat.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Penguins 11/2 to win the 2010 Stanley Cup and 11/4 to win the Eastern Conference.
