Igor Shesterkin stopped 31-of-33 shots in Tuesday’s 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Shesterkin left Saturday’s outing against Columbus after suffering a possible head injury during collision with the Blue Jackets’ Alexandre Texier. Back at it on, Tuesday, mostly to positive impact. The lone goals to beat Shesterkin came off the sticks of Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson in the second and third periods, respectively. Anderson’s goal. with a little over two minutes gone by in the third period drew Montreal to within 3-2 on the scoreboard, but Shesterkin would keep the crease clean for the remainder of the contest. This was Shesterkin’s sixth start — in 12 outings — with two or fewer goals allowed. The Rangers will match up with the Maple Leafs on Thursday as they look to stretch their ongoing winning streak to five games.
Toronto Maple Leafs DFS Spin
Jack Campbell stopped all 24 shots he faced in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators. Yet another dominant performance out of Campbell on Tuesday. The shutout was his fourth of the season and the second in his last three starts. If we expand the statistical range just a touch, Campbell has now turned in efforts of one or no goals allowed in eight of his 13 appearances (12 starts) this season. He entered action on Tuesday posting a stellar 1.82 GAA, a mark which will go down after this gem. The Maple Leafs will meet up with the Rangers on Thursday, when they next take to the ice.
