Nicklas Backstrom (hip) will accompany the team on the road this week, but he isn’t expected to practice. Coach Peter Laviolette said the plan is for Backstrom to continue to skate on his own and the purpose for coming on the trip is just to be around the team more. Backstrom is eligible to come LTIR ahead of Saturday’s match against Philadelphia, but it doesn’t seem like he will be ready to play by that time.

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on 25 shots during Thursday’s 5-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes. The Bolts made life relatively easy for their starting netminder tonight, as they scored three goals by the 10:41 mark of the first period. The 27-year-old has now allowed one goal in back-to-back games. He owns a 4-2-1 record with a 2.53 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage in 2021-22. He’s still one of the top fantasy options at his position.
