Bruins-Lightning Game 4 Free Pick
(The Spread) – The Boston Bruins have gotten the better of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the last two games of the best-of-seven series. What will happen Saturday afternoon in Game 4?
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the host Lightning -120 favorites in today’s Game 4, while the Bruins are +100 underdogs. The over/under for tonight’s game is 5.5 goals and the start is set for 1:35PM EST.
Game 3 saw the Bruins shut down the Lightning to the tune of 2-0 with goals from David Krejci and Andrew Ferrence. Tim Thomas saved all 31 shots against him to notch the shutout for Boston.
A better offensive effort from Lightning forwards Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos, and Vincent Lecavlier among others will be necessary today in order for Tampa Bay to even the series at 2-2. A win for the Bruins today and the climb back will be incredibly difficult for the Lightning.
NHL Free Pick: I think Tampa Bay gets the job done. There was nothing really wrong with goalie Dwayne Roloson’s play in Game 2, but Thomas was simply better. While Thomas is an elite goalie when at the top of his game, I don’t expect the powerful scoring ability of the Lightning to be shut down at home two games in a row. According to the latest NHL trends, Boston is 10-5 against the spread versus Tampa Bay over the last three seasons. Despite those numbers, the Lightning are favored here for a reason. Take the small juice with Tampa Bay, it will be worth it.
SATURDAY NHL FREE PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING -120
