New York established a 1-0 lead in the series with a 2-1 win in Game 1 on Saturday. It was the first win for the Rangers against the Lightning this season. According to online sports book Bovada.lv, New York is the favorite at home tonight, as the Rangers are getting odds of -135 to win, while the Lightning are getting a money line of +125 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 4.5 goals.
The Rangers were able to slow down the red-hot Lightning in Game 1. New York had a 30-24 advantage in shots and a 30-18 edge in hits in the victory. Derek Stepan got the Rangers on the board first with just 13 seconds left in the second period. Tampa then tied the game early in the third on a power-play goal from Ondrej Palat. The Rangers then took the lead for good with 2:25 left in regulation as Dominic Moore found the net.
