Lightning vs. Canadiens Gm 5 Odds
MONTREAL, Quebec (TheSpread) – The Montreal Canadiens look to extend their season tonight when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7PM ET in Game 5 of their series.
Tampa Bay is 57-28-8 on the season and 22-17-7 on the road while Montreal is 55-26-11 overall and 28-11-7 at home. The Canadiens avoided a sweep by Tampa Bay with a 6-2 win in Game 4 on Thursday night. Montreal had lost all eight previous meetings with the Lightning this season prior to that win. These two have hit the over in four of their last six encoutners.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Montreal is the slight favorite at home, as the Canadiens are getting odds of -115 to win, while the Lightning is getting a money line of +105 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5 goals.
The Canadiens jumped out quick on Tampa Bay in Game 4, scoring two goals in the first period and then establishing a 5-0 lead in the second period. Tampa goalie Ben Bishop struggled, making just 11 saves before being pulled. Max Pacioretty led the Canadiens in the win, as he had one goal with two assists. P.K. Subban added two assists for Montreal. Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat had the two goals for the Lightning in the loss.
