Karlsson provides winner in OT
With 11:47 left in the first overtime, Golden Knights center William Karlsson ripped a slap shot over the shoulder of Sharks goaltender Martin Jones for the game-winning goal in the 4-3 OT finish. It was Karlsson’s fourth goal of the postseason. Jonathon Marchessault led the way for Las Vegas in the win as he had a goal and two assists, while Reilly Smith added a goal and and assist. Defenseman Colin Miller also scored a goal, while Karlsson chipped in an assist prior to his winner. Marc-Andre Fleury saved 39 of 42 shots to pick up the win.
Donskoi, Thornton listed as questionable
San Jose right winger Joonas Donskoi is on the injury report heading into tonight’s game as he is questionable with a lower body injury. Donskoi had 14 goals and 18 assists in 66 regular season games, while in the postseason he has a goal and two assists in six games. Sharks veteran center Joe Thornton is a different story as he has been out since Jan. 23 after arthroscopic knee surgery, but is also listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Prior to the injury, he had 13 goals and 23 assists in 47 games.

This series has really picked up steam in the last two games and that will probably continue the rest of the series after Las Vegas hit San Jose in the mouth with the 7-0 Game 1 win. One more bounce in their way and the Sharks would have won Game 3 and had the 2-1 lead going into tonight. I bet those bounces go the home team’s way tonight.
