Fiala wins Game 2 with highlight goal
Nashville left winger Kevin Fiala got into the open ice with the puck and at the 14:23 mark of the second overtime, he put a beauty of a deke on Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck for the game-winning goal. It was Fiala’s third goal of the postseason and his most important as it ended a marathon of a game and sent the Predators on the road with the series tied at 1-1. Ryan Johansen had two goals in the win for Nashville, while Viktor Arvidsson registered a goal and two assists. Filip Forsberg dished out three assists. P.K. Subban added a goal and an assist. Pekka Rinne stopped 46 of 50 shots.
NHL Betting Trends
Nashville
The home team is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. The Predators are 6-1 in their last seven games on Tuesdays.
Winnipeg
The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. Winnipeg is 4-0 in its last four games on Tuesdays.
Prediction:
The Jets are so close to a 2-0 lead coming back to their home ice. To Nashville’s credit, it found a way to prevent that from happening. Winnipeg is 35-7-2-0 at home this season, but the Predators are no slouches on the road at 27-10-3-4. With these two teams so evenly matched, taking the underdog all series could turn out to be a profitable strategy. I’m not saying I’ll do that all series, but it is a suggestion. Anyway, I will roll with the underdog here as you can’t really argue against betting on the team that finished the season with the most points in the NHL.
