Stars win series in OT
Dallas defeated visiting Nashville 2-1 in overtime Tuesday night in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference semifinals. John Klingberg scored the game-winner from the left circle with 2:58 to play in overtime to send the fans home happy. The goal was assisted by Alexander Radulov and Tyler Seguin. The Predators led 1-0 through one period, but the Stars evened it up in the second period on a Blake Comeau goal assisted by Radek Faksa. It remained that way until the Klingberg overtime goal. Ben Bishop recorded 47 saves on 48 shots in the winning effort.
Blues edge Jets in Game 6
St. Louis won 3-2 at home Saturday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals over Winnipeg to advance to the next round. The Blues scored 23 seconds into the contest on a Jaden Schwartz goal assisted by Brayden Schenn and led 1-0 through one period. Schwartz added his second goal on the power play in the second period off assists from Tyler Bozak and Vince Dunn. Schwartz turned it into a hat trick 3:55 into the third period to make it 3-0 with assists going to Ryan O’Reilly and Alex Pietrangelo. The Jets managed to score twice over the final eight minutes to make it interesting, but were unable to find the equalizer. Jordan Binnington recorded 18 saves on 20 shots between the pipes to pick up the victory.
NHL Betting Trends
Dallas
The Stars are 6-1 in their last seven games as a road underdog. The road team is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings.
St. Louis
The Blues are 14-4 in their last 18 games as a home favorite. St. Louis is 8-2 in its last 10 home games.
Prediction:
Bishop has had an unreal season and was incredible in Game 6 versus Nashville, so with tonight’s game and the series in general expected to be low-scoring the Stars are in good hands with a veteran goaltender. Binnington has also been stellar since his call-up for the Blues, but let’s not forget he is a rookie. With the Stars’ top line producing last series, I think they’ll be able to help generate a couple goals tonight and get Dallas off to a great start on the road.
