Public Betting Information
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Jets are a -230 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Wild are a +190 underdog, while the total is set at 5.5 goals. As of Friday afternoon, 72 percent of public bets are pouring in on host Winnipeg. Check out our NHL Public Betting Page for the latest information.
Scheifele provides all offense
Game 4 saw Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck register 30 saves for his first career playoff shutout. Offensively, Mark Scheifele scored both goals as Winnipeg claimed a 2-0 victory on the road and a 3-1 series lead. Scheifele notched 23 goals and 37 assists in a point-per-game scorer in the regular season. He now has three goals in the playoffs and should continue to be a solid contributor as long as Winnipeg is alive.
Wild must overcome road woes
Minnesota has been outstanding at home this season and won Game 3 in its arena, but were unable to even the series in Game 4 and instead face a must-win on the road tonight. While the Wild are 28-7-7-1 at home, they are only 18-22-1-2 on the road. Conversely, Winnipeg is 34-7-2-0 in home games. Minnesota will need to play one of its best games of the season tonight in order to avoid elimination.
NHL Betting Trends
The Wild are 0-5 in their last five games in Winnipeg. Minnesota is 1-6 in its last seven road games.
The Jets are 5-0 in their last five Friday games. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
I'm not seeing a path to a Minnesota victory tonight as I believe Winnipeg will be on its game and the crowd will be rocking. While the moneyline bet is steep, consider the puckline as this might be a game where the Wild are simply overwhelmed.
