Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the visiting Canucks –120 money line favorites over the Blackhawks, who are +114 on the ML. The puck will drop tonight at 8:00PM ET.
The Canucks have taken the first three games in this series, although victory hasn’t come easy. They blanked the Hawks 2-0 in Game 1, came back with a 4-3 victory in Game 2 and then took Game 3 3-2 in Chicago two nights ago. They’ve covered as –178 and –181 home favorites, as well as +101 moneyline underdogs in Game 3.
Daniel Sedin has paced Vancouver. His five points tie him with Nashville’s Mike Fisher, Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk and Anaheim’s Corey Perry for the most in the 2011 NHL playoffs. Sedin’s three goals rank him behind only Anaheim’s Teemu Selanne, who has four.
NHL Free Pick: The defending champs are done and you can have Vancouver at a fair price of –120. According to latest NHL trends, the Canucks are 5-0 in their last five games against the Blackhawks and 6-0 in their last six games against the Central Division. On the flip side, Chicago is 0-4 in its last four games and 1-4 in its last five home games. The Hawks may come out of the gates hot, but as soon as they’re pushed they could crack knowing that their season is on the brink. The third period is where Vancouver wins this one.
