Canadiens vs. Panthers Prediction
The Canadiens are heavy underdogs tonight in Sunrise, Florida but can they cover the puckline number for bettors when they visit the Panthers at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Panthers are -205 money line favorites versus the Habs, who have odds of +180 to pull off the upset. As for the total, the number currently sits at 5.5 goals.
The Canadiens have not been good on the road (6-21 in their last 27 games away from Montreal) and have not been good overall (17-35 in their last 52 games) of late, but they have had plenty of success winning games in Sunrise.
Montreal has won four of its last five road games versus Florida and the road team is also 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams. The Habs are 4-1 in their last five games when their opponent allows two goals or less in its previous game as well.
It's likely that the Canadiens' modest two-game winning streak will end today at the hands of the Panthers but that doesn't mean they won't keep the game close. Montreal is offered at a steep price on the puckline tonight but this should be a one-goal game either way.
