Blue Jackets vs. Capitals Prediction
The Washington Capitals will look to add to their league-leading point tonight when they host an eliminated Columbus Blue Jackets team tonight at 7:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Capitals are -245 money line favorites to beat the Blue Jackets, who have odds of +205 to pull off the upset tonight. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 5 goals.
Braden Holtby got the night off on Saturday when the Capitals were shutout by the Blues but in his last start he turned aside 22 shots in 1-0 overtime win over the Devils on Friday. He's now just three wins away from tying Martin Brodeur's record for most victories in a season. He'll enter play tonight with a 45-9-4 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .922 save percentage. Holtby has been sensational.
As for Sergei Bobrovsky, he allowed three goals on 24 shots as the Blue Jackets fell to the Hurricanes 3-2 on Thursday. He's been up-and-down since his return from an injury and is now 13-17-1 on the year with a 2.72 goals against average to go along with a .909 save percentage.
Columbus is just 1-5 in its last six trips to Washington and is winless in its last five road games. Look for the Capitals, who are 11-1 in their last 12 games following a loss of three or more goals, to win decidedly tonight.
