According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Lightning are listed as a -155 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Bruins are a +135 underdog, while the total sits at 6 goals.
Tampa Bay opened as a -165 favorite before the line was bet down, while the total has remained at 6 goals. The Lightning can be found between a -145 and a -155 favorite, while Boston is between a +130 and +135 underdog depending on the book.
As of Saturday morning, 52 percent of public bets are coming in on the visiting Bruins. Online wager info also shows that 63 percent of bets are being placed on the over.
INJURY TO WATCH
Bruins right winger David Backes (possible suspension) will play tonight as he will not face further discipling after receiving a match penalty last game. Left winger Jake DeBrusk (upper body) and defenseman Zdeno Chara (upper body) are both out today. Center Patrice Bergeron (foot) is out until late March, while defenseman Charlie McAvoy (knee) is out until early April. Left winger Anders Bjork (shoulder) is out for the season. For Tampa Bay, Ondrej Palat (lower body) is out until late March.
The Bruins have had the Lightning's number for a few seasons, winning six of the last seven meetings including a 3-2 victory on their home ice on Nov. 29. Boston has lost two of its last three contests, all on the road, but previously had a six-game winning streak. The Lightning had their five-game win streak snapped with a 7-4 home defeat versus the Senators last game. Boston is one of the best teams in the NHL and although it has had some injury issues lately, expect a great effort here. I'll take the underdogs against an opponent it has proven to be able to handle.
