The line opened as a pick'em before shifting in Pittsburgh's favor. The total has gone up after opening at 6 goals. Depending on the sportsbook, you can bet on the Penguins anywhere from -110 to -120 on the moneyline. Toronto is either at +100 or -105. The total has moved to 6.5 at all books.
As of Saturday morning, 64 percent of public bets have come in on the visiting Penguins. Online wager info also shows that 53 percent of bets are siding with the over.
INJURY TO WATCH
Pittsburgh center Dominik Simon (lower body) and right winger Bryan Rust (upper body) are both questionable for today. Goalie Matt Murray (brain injury) and center Zach Aston-Reese (upper body) are both out indefinitely. For the Maple Leafs, star center Auston Matthews (shoulder) remains out today.
Matthews still being out tilts me in favor of the Penguins for what should be a very entertaining contest. Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby are both playing at a very high level right now, helping Pittsburgh to three straight wins. The Penguins have scored at least four goals in seven of their last 10 contests. Toronto, meanwhile, is coming off an 0-4 road trip in which it did sneak out one point in a 4-3 shootout loss at the Lightning to open the four-game set. Pittsburgh has won six of the last 10 meetings and I like the visitors in this spot too.
