Jets blown out at Avs
Winnipeg suffered a 7-1 defeat at Colorado Wednesday night to fall to 36-20-4 on the season. The Jets trailed 4-0 in the third period until Kyle Connor put them on the board with a power play goal at the 18:03 mark. The score was assisted by Blake Wheeler and Patrik Laine. The Avalanche proceeded to score three more times to put it away. Connor Hellebuyck surrendered seven goals on 46 shots in the losing effort.
Golden Knights fall in shootout
Las Vegas lost 3-2 Wednesday night at home in a shootout loss to Boston. The Golden Knights (32-25-5) lost 2-1 in the shootout with William Karlsson finding the back of the net for the hosts. Reilly Smith tied the score at 1-1 with 1:36 remaining in the first period with assists going to Cody Eakin and Jon Merrill. Boston again took a 2-1 advantage 1:09 into the third period, but Las Vegas evened the score 27 seconds later on a goal courtesy of Nate Schmidt assisted by Smith and Jonathan Marchessault. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed two goals on 27 shots in the defeat.
NHL Betting Trends
Winnipeg
The Jets are 10-2 in their last 12 games after allowing five or more goals the previous contest. Winnipeg is 4-1 in its last five games versus the Pacific Division.
Las Vegas
The Golden Knights are 2-5 in their last seven games versus a team with a winning record. Las Vegas is 1-4 in its last five games versus the Central Division.
Prediction:
Winnipeg has struggled lately, but this is too talented of a team for it to persist for long. With the Golden Knights being up-and-down all season, this seems like a prime opportunity to take a shot on an underdog that can beat anyone anywhere on any given day. The Jets are 15-13 on the road this season and I think they have a great chance to add another win to that record here.
