St. Louis downed host Minnesota by a count of 4-0 Sunday afternoon to keep its winning streak going and improve to 31-22-5 on the season. It was the third straight victory by shutout for the Blues. Vladimir Tarasenko opened the scoring 5:08 in on the power play as he was assisted by Ryan O’Reilly and Robert Thomas. O’Reilly scored on the power play with 30 seconds left in the first period to make it 2-0 as Tarasenko and Alex Pietrangelo assisted. Vince Dunn made it 3-0 in the second on a goal assisted by Pietrangelo and Brayden Schenn. Schenn completed the scoring with 7:54 remaining in the second with an assist going to Tarasenko. NHL Betting Trends
Toronto
The Maple Leafs are 7-0 in their last seven Tuesday games. Toronto is 6-2 in its last eight games overall.
St. Louis
The Blues are 5-0 in their last five games during the last game of a 4-in-6 situation. St. Louis is 6-0 in its last six games as a favorite.
Prediction:
St. Louis is playing with a ton of confidence and is getting great goaltending right now from Binnington plus Jake Allen. It’s a hard team to fade right now and even though the Maple Leafs have been strong offensively this season, I don’t see them having a great showing here one game after being shut out by the struggling Coyotes.
