The first-place Tampa Bay Lightning (33-16-5) are coming off a thrilling win Sunday afternoon as Vincent Lecavlier’s overtime goal lifted them to a 4-3 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues. Tampa Bay will again try to win on its home ice Tuesday night at 7:30PM EST in a game against the Buffalo Sabres (24-22-5).
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Lightning -145 favorites, while the over-under is set at 5.5. According to the latest trends, Buffalo is 26-22-3 on over-unders this season while Tampa Bay is 29-24-1 on over-unders.
Buffalo is 1-1 since the All-Star break and is coming off a 6-2 victory Saturday at home against Toronto. Thomas Vanek leads the Sabres with 19 goals and 25 assists, while goalie Ryan Miller has a 22-15-4 record and a 2.67 goals-against average. Steven Stamkos highlights the Tampa Bay attack with 40 goals and 32 assists.
Elsewhere in the NHL, the Washington Capitals are home against the San Jose Sharks at 7:00PM EST. Washington is a -145 favorite and the over-under is 5.5. Pittsburgh is home versus Columbus at 7:00PM EST, where the Penguins are -150 favorites and the over-under is 5.5. The St. Louis Blues are at Florida for a 7:30PM EST start. The Panthers are a -120 favorite and the over-under is 5.5.
