The Consol Energy Center will host the biggest matchup of the night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:00PM ET. According to current NHL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Penguins are –193 on the money line, while the Lightning are +177.
Tampa Bay is 23-11-3-2 this year, while Pittsburgh enters this game with a 25-12-2-1 record. The Lightning are 11-8-2-1 on the road this year, while the Penguins are 13-7-1 at home.
The Lightning are led by Steven Stamkos (31 goals), Martin St. Louis (34 assists) and Dan Ellis (3.03 goals against). The Pens are of course led by superstar Sidney Crosby, who has a team-lead in goals at 32 and assists at 33. Brent Johnson has a goals against average of 2.14 on the year.
In other key matchups on Wednesday, the New York Rangers (22-15-3) will host the Carolina Hurricanes (18-15-5) at 7:00PM ET. The Rangers are –140 on the money line, while the Hurricanes are +129. The Anaheim Ducks (21-17-4) will also host the Nashville Predators (19-13-6) at 10:00PM ET. The Ducks are –130 on the money line, while the Predators are +120.
