CLEVELAND (AP) Former Redskins defensive lineman Stephen Paea says he has signed with the Browns.
Paea, released earlier this week by Washington, posted a photo on Twitter of him signing a contract. It included the caption: ”One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
The 6-foot-1, 310-pound Paea will give the Browns some needed depth up front after they lost Desmond Bryant to a season-ending chest injury. Also, Cleveland will be without Armonty Bryant for the first four games while he serves a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.
The 28-year-old Paea was drafted in the second round by Chicago in 2011. After he recorded six sacks in 2014, he signed a four-year, $21 million deal with the Redskins.
He never really fit into Washington’s three-man front and lost his starting job early last season. He spent most of the year in a backup role before sustaining a foot injury.
