JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – The Jaguars ended John Broussard’s season Friday, putting the rookie wide receiver on injured reserve and replacing him on the roster with receiver Chad Owens.
Broussard had played in eight games and caught four passes for 126 yards and one touchdown. He has been inactive for the last six games after injuring an ankle against Tennessee on Nov. 11.
Owens has spent the last eight weeks on the practice squad after the Jaguars resigned him on Nov. 8. He was originally selected by Jacksonville in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL draft.
He has played in five games with the Jaguars the past two seasons and has 12 punt returns for 62 yards. Owens signed with Tampa By in January but was waived in August before signing with the Jaguars in November.
