IRVING, Texas (AP) -Cowboys tight end Jason Witten left Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay with a rib injury.
Witten apparently got hurt on an 8-yard catch at the end of the first quarter. Team trainers looked at the Pro Bowl tight end on the sideline before taking him into the locker room for further evaluation.
The extent of the injury and Witten’s status for the rest of the game were unknown.
The Cowboys were already playing without Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo, who was inactive because of a broken pinkie on his throwing hand.
