ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions on Thursday placed running back Brian Calhoun on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury and re-signed running back Aveion Cason.
Cason played six games with Detroit last season, starting the final two. He spent the 2007 preseason with the Lions, was released Sept. 1 and re-signed Sept. 11. Cason saw limited action in Detroit's home opener against Minnesota, but was inactive at Philadelphia. He was released Sept. 25.
