KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Chiefs coach Andy Reid is uncertain whether cornerback Brandon Flowers and linebacker Justin Houston will attend the team’s mandatory minicamp next week.
Both have been absent the last three weeks, when the Chiefs have held voluntary workouts at their practice facility. The absence of Flowers has brought up rumors that the Chiefs are trying to trade him, while Houston is entering the final year of his contract and hoping for a new deal.
Meanwhile, Reid provided a positive update Friday on a couple of injured players.
Tight end Travis Kelce, who missed last season with a knee injury, could begin doing more next week, and wide receiver Kyle Williams appears to be making progress in recovery from a torn knee ligament.
Left tackle Eric Fisher remains limited following shoulder surgery.
