Updated Super Bowl LIV Futures Odds
While the Patriots won’t play until later tonight in East Rutherford, they remain the odds on favorite to win Super Bowl LIV following Sunday’s action in the NFL. That said, which NFC team is listed immediately behind the Pats?
The Favorite
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Patriots are 9/4 favorites to win Super Bowl LIV. Only the Pats and the 49ers remain unbeaten at 6-0 and New England should improve to 7-0 with a win tonight over the Jets at MetLife Stadium. As of this writing, the Patriots are 9.5-point road favorites for tonight’s 8:15 p.m. ET Monday Night Football matchup in East Rutherford.
The Challenger
Despite losing Drew Brees to injury weeks ago, the Saints continue to find new ways to win games. At 6-1, they remain two games ahead of the 4-2 Panthers in the NFC South and have 5/1 odds to win Super Bowl LIV, giving them the next-best odds to win it all behind the Patriots. Without the injured Alvin Kamara yesterday, backup Teddy Bridgewater completed 23-of-38 passes for 281 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in an upset win over the Bears on Sunday. New Orleans continues to play strong defense and has some of the best special teams units in the league.
Legitimate Contenders
When it comes to the odds, after the Patriots and Saints are the 49ers and Packers at 12/1, followed by the Chiefs at 14/1. Had Patrick Mahomes not injured his knee(cap) on Thursday night last week, Kansas City would have been the team listed directly behind New England when it came to the Super Bowl odds. As it stands now, the Chiefs will have to get by without Mahomes for the next 3-6 weeks. As previously mentioned, San Francisco is the only other unbeaten team in the NFL at 6-0, while Green Bay improved to 6-1 following Aaron Rodgers’ perfect passing day against Oakland.
In the Hunt
The Cowboys and Vikings are both 17/1 to win Super Bowl LIV following their Week 7 wins over the Eagles and Lions, respectively. The Rams got back on track with a 37-10 win over the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday and are now 18/1 to win the Super Bowl, as are the Ravens, who upset the Seahawks as a 3-point road pup in Seattle yesterday. Lamar Jackson was incredible with his legs, carving up the Seahawks defense in a manner that Russell Wilson has done to opponents this season.
Mid-Range Long Shots
The Colts are 30/1 after beating the Texans on Sunday, while the Bills, Eagles, Seahawks and aforementioned Texans are all 35/1, respectively. The Panthers continue to win without Cam Newton and are 40/1, while the struggling Bears are now 65/1 after losing to the Saints on Sunday. The Browns, who were idle in Week 7, are 75/1.
Which Teams are Public Bettings Betting in Week 8?
The Long Shots
The Steelers are 100/1 to win Super Bowl LVI, followed by the Jaguars and Lions at 150/1. The Raiders, who were 3-2 before getting thumped by the Packers on Sunday, are 250/1, as are the Titans, who held on for a 23-20 victory over the Chargers in Ryan Tannehill’s first start in place of the benched Marcus Mariota.
No Shot in Hell
The Bucs, Cardinals and Chargers are all 300/1 to win the Super Bowl, followed by the Broncos and Jets, who are 500/1. The rebuilding Giants are 1000/1, the soon-to-be rebuilding Falcons are 2500/1, followed by the Redskins, Bengals and Dolphins, who might as well not have Super Bowl odds at all at this point. Those last four teams will be fighting for placement inside the top-5 when it comes to next April’s draft.
