Bucs’ 2015-16 NFL Season Odds
TAMPA, FL (The Spread) – The Bucs have a new face of the franchise in Jameis Winston but will his presence translate to more wins in 2015?
Tampa Bay had what many would consider a solid offseason after re-signing cornerback Mike Jenkins and adding outside linebacker Bruce Carter, defensive tackle Henry Melton and cornerback Sterling Moore. As well as taking Winston with the No. 1 overall pick, they also landed offensive linemen Donovan Smith (Penn State) and Ali Marpet (Hobart) in the 2015 draft.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bucs’ over/under for wins in the 2015 regular season has been set at 6, while their Super Bowl odds are 100/1. They’re also 40/1 to win the NFC Conference Championship and 15/2 to win the NFC West Division.
It’s hard to predict the success of rookie quarterbacks but Winston’s transition to the pro game won’t be as challenging as other first-year signal-callers after he played in a pro-style system at FSU. He also has a couple of nice weapons to throw to in Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson and Austin Seferian-Jenkins. If the defense can continue to improve under second-year coach Lovie Smith, six wins isn’t unrealistic for the Bucs, especially in a division with plenty of uncertainty.
