Oregon redshirt sophomore TE Spencer Webb (undisclosed) and WR Devon Williams (undisclosed) will play in the Pac 12 Championship against USC on Friday. Webb (6’6/240) has not played in a game yet this season, as the Oregon tight end position has experienced significant attrition in 2020. Last year he caught 18 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns and should take on a prominent role in the offense once he is able to return. Williams (6’5/205) leads Oregon in receiving, catching 13 passes for 264 yards, a 20.3 YPC and two touchdowns. He suffered an injury against Oregon State on November 27 and was forced to miss the following game against Cal. Both players will be integral parts of the Oregon passing offense this Friday against USC.
USC Trojans Game Notes
USC senior RB Vavae Malepeai (knee) is looking doubtful for the Pac 12 Championship game against Oregon on Friday. Malepeai (6’0/220) shouldered a heavy load in a 42-38 victory over UCLA last Saturday, carrying 19 times for 110 yards and a touchdown. To put in perspective how vital the senior tailback was for the Trojans, the rest of the team combined to rush 14 times for minus-ten yards against their crosstown rivals. Should he not be able to suit up, a three-headed committee of Stephen Carr, Markese Stepp and Kenan Christon would try to pick up the slack this Friday against Oregon.
Oregon vs. USC Betting Prediction
The favorite is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams while USC is 4-1 against the number in its last five games as a home favorite. The Trojans are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record, are 5-2-1 against the number in their last eight conference games and are 5-2 at the betting window in their last seven home games.
On the other side, the Ducks are 0-6 against the spread in their last six games as a road underdog, are 5-11-1 against the spread in their last 17 games as an underdog and are 2-7 at the betting window in their last nine games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.
