NFL Week 9 Point Spread Report
Week 9 kicks off with a rematch of the NFC Championship Game from last season when the Packers visit the 49ers on Thursday Night Football. Here’s a rundown of this weekend’s NFL lines.
Thursday Night Football
The look ahead line for Thursday night’s game was a pick’em but now the 49ers are 2.5-point home dogs versus the visiting Packers at most sportsbooks. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 51 but with injuries to both Jimmy Garappolo and George Kittle, these numbers could shift during the week. The two key members of the Niners’ offense left Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks in the fourth quarter and did not return.
Sunday’s Noon Slate
NFC North rivals meet in Minnesota on Sunday where the Vikings are a 4-point home favorite versus the Lions following their upset win over the Packers in Week 8. The total for Sunday’s matchup has already dropped two points from 55 down to 53.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are 4-point home favorites versus the Broncos (47.5) while the Jaguars are 6.5-point home dogs versus their AFC South rivals, the Texans (51). The Chiefs are also double-digit home favorites versus the Panthers (51) while the Seahawks are laying 2.5 points to the Bills (51.5) in a matchup of title contenders. Also on Sunday, the Titans are 6-point home favorites versus the Bears (46.5), the Ravens are 3-point road favorites versus the Colts (44.5) and the Giants are 3-point road pups in Washington (43).
Late Sunday Slate
AFC West rivals meet in L.A. at 4:05 p.m. ET when the Chargers host the Raiders, who are 1.5-point road underdogs despite beating the Browns in Week 8. Following their surprising blowout win over the Rams on Sunday, the Dolphins are 4.5-point road underdogs versus the Cardinals, while the total for that game sits at 48 points. As of this writing, the lines for the Steelers-Cowboys game at 4:25 p.m. ET is not available, likely due to the playing status of Dallas QB Andy Dalton (concussion).
Prime Time Games
The struggling Patriots look to pick up their first win in over a month when they visit the winless Jets at 8:15 p.m. ET on Sunday Night Football. Whether or not Cam Newton is still the Patriots starting quarterback at that point is unknown. Newton fumbled the ball in Buffalo territory on Sunday when the Patriots were driving for a game-tying field goal, or potentially a game-winning touchdown and has struggled mightily as the team’s starter in 2020. The total for that game sits at 41 points.
The Monday Night Football matchup is excellent, as Tom Brady and the Bucs are 4-point home favorites versus the visiting Saints. These division rivals met in Week 1, with New Orleans posting a 34-23 victory as a 4-point home favorite. The over also cashed in that game with the number sitting at 48.5.
