Updated Super Bowl Odds: Week 2
Following a couple of upsets and more than a few surprises, here’s a look at the updated odds for Super Bowl LII. Heading into Week 2 of the season, it’s no surprise that the New England Patriots remain favored to win this year’s NFL title.
The Favorite
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Patriots remain the favorites to win Super Bowl LII with 6/1 odds. New England kicked off its season by beating the Houston Texas as a 6-point home favorite. The Patriots never trailed in the game as their Matt Patricia-less defense played very well and Tom Brady did his thing offensively.
The Challenger
The team with the next-best odds is the squad that defeated the Patriots in last year’s Super Bowl. Following their narrow victory over the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, the Eagles are 8/1 to win the Super Bowl. Nick Foles played like crap again against Atlanta’s ultra-fast defense but he was bailed out by yet another stout effort by his defense, which thwarted Matt Ryan and Co. once again inside the 10-yard line in the waning moments of the game. The Eagles will look to move to 2-0 with another victory against a NFC South opponent when they visit the Bucs on Sunday. Not surprisingly, the Eagles are favored in that matchup.
Contenders
The Rams thumped the Raiders in the second game of Monday night’s doubleheader and are 10/1 to win the Super Bowl, as are the Vikings, who used a stout defensive effort to beat the 49ers on Sunday. The Packers and Steelers are both 15/1, respectively, to win the Super Bowl, while the Falcons, Jaguars, Chargers and Saints, who were upset at home by the Bucs as 10-point home favorites, are all 20/1, respectively.
The Mid-Range Long Shots
The Ravens and Chiefs are both 22/1, respectively, to win the Super Bowl following impressive Week 1 victories, while the Texans are 30/1. The Panthers, meanwhile, are 35/1 to win this year’s NFL title while the Broncos and 49ers are both 45/1, respectively.
The Deeper Long Shots
Following their meltdown on Sunday night in Green Bay, the Bears are 50/1 to win the Super Bowl, followed by the Cowboys, Giants and Redskins, who are each 60/1, respectively. Despite beating the Colts on the road last week, the Bengals are 65/1 to win the Super Bowl.
The Biggest Long Shots
The Browns, Colts, Jets, Buccaneers and Titans are all 75/1, respectively, to win the Super Bowl. The Jets and Bucs pulled off the most impressive upsets of Week 1 but still can’t garner much love from oddsmakers. Meanwhile, the Lions, Dolphins and Seahawks are all 100/1, respectively, while the Raiders are 125/1 and the Cardinals are 250/1. The team with the longest odds? The Bills, at a whopping 1000/1.
