Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin
Matt Ryan completed 37-of-54 passes for 450 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Falcons’ 38-25, Week 1 loss to the Seahawks. With the Falcons playing off their back foot the entire game — 14-3 in the first quarter and 28-12 at halftime — Ryan spent the afternoon throwing, finding each of Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage for at least 9/100. The only loser was new addition Hayden Hurst, who had a quiet 3/38 line, albeit one that included a diving 27-yard grab. Both of Ryan’s scores went to Ridley, with the first coming after Shaq Griffin and Jamal Adams plowed into each other, leaving Ridley wide open. Ryan’s pick was a last-second heave into the end zone in the long-since decided game. Ryan was moving well after last year’s high-ankle sprain left him a sitting duck in the second half of the year, though he did take both a third- and fourth-down sack. Ryan will remain a high-floor, high-ceiling QB1 for Week 2 against the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys DFS Spin
Dak Prescott completed 25-of-39 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Rams. Prescott’s only touchdown was a checkdown to Ezekiel Elliott. He got most of his yards playing from behind in the fourth quarter. Prescott took three sacks and was under pressure all game with rookie RT Terence Steele getting blown up. His salvaged his night with 30 rushing yards, but this wasn’t the best start for a player that turned down $110 million guaranteed this offseason. Prescott has a potential shootout matchup with the Falcons in a Week 2.
Falcons vs. Cowboys Betting Prediction
The Falcons are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games played in the month of September, which is a good indication of how slowly this team has started seasons under coach Dan Quinn. Atlanta is also 6-22 at the betting window in its last 28 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in its previous game, which it managed to accomplish in its blowout loss to Seattle in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 10-2 against the spread in their last 12 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game and should look much better offensively versus a dreadful Falcons defense than they did last Sunday night on the road versus Aaron Donald and the Rams.
NFL WEEK 2 BETTING PREDICTION: DALLAS COWBOYS -3.5
