3 Underrated NFL Games for Week 6
While NFL football fans and betting enthusiasts always have their eyes on the most attractive games each week, there’s still plenty of value in the matchups that may not be the biggest or most talked about games on the schedule.
With the Week 6 matchups approaching, it’s time to check out this week’s NFL odds provided by MyBookie lead bookmaker, Dave Strauss.

I’ve got a trio of expert picks on three of the most underrated NFL games on this weekend’s slate of Week 6 matchups.
Again, these games may not pique the interest of casual football fans. But, if you’re an NFL bettor that’s looking to cash in (duh, who isn’t?) then you should know that all three of these October 15th matchups are offering plenty of betting value.
Miami Dolphins (2-2) at Atlanta Falcons (3-1)
This Sunday at 1pm, the Miami Dolphins are at Mercedes-Benz Stadium taking on the Falcons on CBS.
Most NFL fans and bettors probably aren’t very excited about seeing the clearly mediocre Miami Dolphins play anyone this season. Although their Week 6 matchup against Matt Ryan and the offensively-explosive Atlanta Falcons, is offering plenty of betting value.
Mostly because the Dolphins can’t score the ball.
Miami lost to the New York Jets 20-6 in Week 3 before getting shut out by the New Orleans Saints 20-0 in London one week later.
The Dolphins did manage to get past a Tennessee Titans team that was without starting quarterback Marcus Mariota 16-10 this past weekend.
Although, their grand total of 22 points over their last three games tell me they’re in big trouble against a Falcons team that can score the ball in their collective sleep.
Miami is averaging 10.3 points per game this season under the awful leadership of veteran quarterback Jay Cutler. Meanwhile Atlanta puts 26.0 points per game on the board, generally, like it’s nothing.
The Dolphins are 3-8 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games after racking up less than 250 total yards of offense in their previous game.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a bye week.
Atlanta wins and easily covers the chalk!

San Francisco 49ers (0-5) at Washington Redskins (2-2)
The Niners are taking on the Washington Redskins at the FedEx Field on FOX at the same time as the Dolphins on Sunday.
Outside of San Francisco, not many people want to watch the winless 49ers. However, their Week 6 matchup against the Washington redskins is offering plenty of betting value if you ask me.
The Niners have been competitive recently despite dropping each of their last two games in overtime including their 26-23 Week 5 loss to Indianapolis.
The Washington Redskins are well-rested after getting a Week 5 bye following their hard-fought 29-20 loss to Kansas City in Week 4. Washington can put points on the board in a hurry and the Niners can’t under the direction of mostly mediocre veteran signal-caller Brian Hoyer.
The Redskins are a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games.
They’re against a team with a losing record while the favorite in this NFC series has gone 5-1-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.
I’m not overly fond of the double-digit spread, but I like Kirk Cousins and company to narrowly cover it!
Pick: Washington -10
Cleveland Browns (0-5) at Houston Texans (2-3)
Sunday afternoon’s matchup on CBS, has the Cleveland Browns at the NRG Stadium. The Browns and Texans have an underrated game ahead that you might want to pay attention to.
I know that most football fans avoid watching the Cleveland Browns in an effort to avoid going blind. And that the Houston Texans lost superstar defensive end, J.J. Watt, to a season-ending knee injury.
But this Week 6 matchup is offering plenty of value seeing as how the Texans have a legitimate superstar in the making in rookie quarterback, Deshaun Watson.
While I love No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett, I maintain that the Browns should have drafted Watson with the No. 1 overall pick. Simply because Garrett just can’t change the course of a game or franchise like Watson can playing quarterback.
The Browns – and every other team that needed a quarterback – seriously blew it by not drafting Watson with the No. 1 overall pick.
Cleveland has gone 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in the month of October. And, a winless 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.
Houston has gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss and 19-6-2 ATS in their last 27 games, after racking up more than 350 yards of total offense in their previous game.
The Texans win behind their gifted rookie quarterback.
